Planning Blog


 For my music video I am using White Iverson by Post Malone. I am doing this because it is one of my favorite songs and Allen Iverson (who the song is about), is one of my favorite NBA players of all time. This is because of the swagger he had on and off the court. For my music video I will be at the park. I will be shooting some basketballs with my friend. This is because in the video he was shooting a couple of basketballs. I will also be playing basketball because the song is about a basketball player. I will also be in my friends Jeep.

Schedule:

11/20- Create the storyboard for my music video. This will be 12 boxes.

11/21- I will record the necessary shots for my music video. This will include close ups, panning shots and other shots. This will be a one minute music video. My friend will also be in some parts of the video. This process should take around 1-1 1/2 hours.

11/22- I will edit my music video. This is where I will add slow motion. This process should be fairly easy. This process should take around 45 minutes to edit then 15-30 minutes for the video to render.

Backup plan:

In case of inclimate weather. I may have to record a different date. However, I am going to stick to the plan. I feel that the idea is a good one so I want to keep with it.

Genre Research: Horror

We had to research a genre for this blog. I chose horror. At first I thought I knew a lot about horror. I would soon come to the realization that I was very mistaken. I chose horror for many reasons. One being because it is one of my favorite genres. Another being that it is very different in the way it it setup from most other genres. Rather than it being light outside, it is usually dark. There are 4 main lighting techniques in the horror genre. These are "uplighting", "spotlighting", "silhouettes" and "underexposure". These help create a sense of fright or gloominess throughout the scenes. There are many different camera angles used in the horror genre. These include, "birds-eye", "low angles", "close ups" and "tilted angles". Mis-En-Scene is very important in movies. Without this, there would be no movies. We then see the director credits. These are followed by the cast. Then the music composers. The images shown are pretty scary. You can tell that they are truly trying to frighten you. Scary images of wolves, children and symbols were appearing. These were all showing a sense of knowing that you are about to be scared.
