 For my music video I am doing White Iverson by Post Malone. White Iverson is one of my favorite songs. In the video he has a white Rolls Royce. He is also in the desert. He shoots a couple shots on the basketball hoop he brought with him. In the video he used a lot of slow motion. There was also a lot of panning shots. This song falls under the hip-hop genre. Usually in hip-hop music videos, the artist has many people around him trying to get the listener hype because most hip-hop music gets people hype. However, it White Iverson, he is only with one other person. Post Malone has a basketball in his hand along with a basketball hoop in the background of his video because the song is talking about the former NBA MVP and Hall of Famer, Allen Iverson. Post Malone also had his hair in braids to resemble Allen Iverson's cornrows he was well known for. The Rolls Royce also fit the characteristics of a hip-hop music video because most of the music videos in this genre have nice, luxurious cars. Post Malone may not have the "rapper look" but he definitely has talent. He had a gold grill in his mouth and gold jewelry. This also adds to the "rapper look." There were also a lot of close up shots used throughout the video. This was Post Malones first song and he instantly blew up. This brought him instant fame and success. Now he is one of the biggest artists of today.

Genre Research: Horror

We had to research a genre for this blog. I chose horror. At first I thought I knew a lot about horror. I would soon come to the realization that I was very mistaken. I chose horror for many reasons. One being because it is one of my favorite genres. Another being that it is very different in the way it it setup from most other genres. Rather than it being light outside, it is usually dark. There are 4 main lighting techniques in the horror genre. These are "uplighting", "spotlighting", "silhouettes" and "underexposure". These help create a sense of fright or gloominess throughout the scenes. There are many different camera angles used in the horror genre. These include, "birds-eye", "low angles", "close ups" and "tilted angles". Mis-En-Scene is very important in movies. Without this, there would be no movies. We then see the director credits. These are followed by the cast. Then the music composers. The images shown are pretty scary. You can tell that they are truly trying to frighten you. Scary images of wolves, children and symbols were appearing. These were all showing a sense of knowing that you are about to be scared.
