Genre Research: House of 1000 Corpses

The next movie I watched was House of 1000 Corpses. This movie may just be one of the most sick and twisted movies I have ever seen. This was hands down the goriest film I have ever seen. This movie is rated R for a reason. While this film was very wrong, it was a pretty solid film. The film is about "An empty fuel tank and a flat tire lead two couples down a terror-riddled road to the House of 1000 Corpses. "House of 1000 Corpses" is at its core a story of family - a cast of twisted individuals who, with each slash of a throat or stab thru the chest, add bodies to their sick human menagerie." This movie had a lot of aspects that I will want to use in my film. One being the sounds. There were lots of blood curdling screams. There were also a lot of blades. There also was some lighting aspects I will want to use. In the film they illuminated the room very dimly. I will use this in my film. I also want to use a lot of the camera angles used in this film. They added a sense of realness. I disliked how unrealistic the overall film was. I only have two bad things to say about this film. One being how unrealistic the film was. The second being the goriness of the film. Dont get me wrong I love gory films but this one was a little over the top. Overall this was a good movie but watch with caution.

We then see the director credits. These are followed by the cast. Then the music composers. The images shown are pretty scary. You can tell that they are truly trying to frighten you. Scary images of wolves, children and symbols were appearing. These were all showing a sense of knowing that you are about to be scared. Genre Research: Horror

We had to research a genre for this blog. I chose horror. At first I thought I knew a lot about horror. I would soon come to the realization that I was very mistaken. I chose horror for many reasons. One being because it is one of my favorite genres. Another being that it is very different in the way it it setup from most other genres. Rather than it being light outside, it is usually dark. There are 4 main lighting techniques in the horror genre. These are "uplighting", "spotlighting", "silhouettes" and "underexposure". These help create a sense of fright or gloominess throughout the scenes. There are many different camera angles used in the horror genre.
